Contact Lenses for Active, Confident Kids
For many children, contact lenses offer freedom during sports, school and day-to-day activities. We assess whether your child is ready for lenses and teach them how to handle and care for them safely. When introduced at the right age, lenses can be both comfortable and easy to manage. They also form an important part of our myopia management approach for suitable patients.
Myopia Management for Growing Eyes
Short-sightedness (myopia) often develops during childhood and can progress rapidly. We offer evidence-based myopia management options — including specially designed spectacle lenses and contact lenses — that help slow this progression and support long-term eye health
Learn more about it on our dedicated Myopia Management page.
Support for Visual Stress
Some children find reading uncomfortable, lose their place on the page or struggle to focus for long periods. Our visual stress assessments help determine whether coloured overlays or precision tints improve comfort and reading fluency. For many children, these simple, gentle interventions can make a noticeable difference.
Children’s Screening Service
If a reception-age child does not pass their school vision check, they are often referred to us for further assessment. As a primary eyecare provider, we can examine them quickly and avoid unnecessary hospital appointments. When specialist care is needed, we arrange prompt referrals through trusted pathways, ensuring every child receives the right support.

Are children’s eye tests free?
Yes. NHS eye tests are free for children under 16, or under 19 if they are in full-time education.
Can my child get free glasses?
Yes. If spectacles are required, NHS vouchers cover a full range of children’s frames and lenses.
